My name is Jessica Ramirez and I will have the pleasure of teaching your child this school year (2017/2018). This is my first year with A.O.T, however I have taught in Virginia and Texas both as an elementary and special education teacher. My masters studies are in elementary and special education. It is my belief that a child's success is based on a cooperative parent/teacher relationship. I look forward to working with you throughout the year.
Kindergarten is a year of growing socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Your involvement, interest, and enthusiasm will help make this a wonderful year of growth for you and your child.
Take a moment to imagine the kindergarten world: letters reading/language arts, numbers/math, stories, music, library, art and play. There will be a lot of new routines and learning experiences for your child to process. As you talk with your child about their day and celebrate their best effort on the work they do, remember that Kindergarten is a "child's garden."
At this early stage of learning, it is important to set routines in your child's life. Try to set aside time each day to discuss what your child did in school. If you have not joined, please join our class on “Class Dojo”, which is a communication tool I will be using this school year to communicate the success of your child’s day.
I feel that my greatest contribution so far in education has been serving my students to the best of my ability and being an advocate for their education.
Thank you for entrusting your child to me,
Mrs. Jessica Ramirez
